Marseilles from Father to Son• presentation

March 1989, Marseilles, municipal elections. The city is finally going to take a stand on the conflicts that have been gnawing away at it since the death of its former mayor and reigning master, the prominent Gaston Deferre. A journalist who loves and knows the city well closely follows the battle for succession, which increasingly begins to resemble an ancient Greek tragedy. In counterpoint, Marseilles inhabitants of Algerian or Armenian origin recount how much they love this city which often fails to return the favor.
