Sarajevo, The Living and The Dead • presentation ![]() Radovan Tadic, a Yugoslav-born film-maker who has been living in France for the past twenty-five years, shot this film in Sarajevo over several months between October 1992 and May 1993. He shows us everyday life, following a handful of individuals whose private destinies reveal the destiny of an entire people, in all its horror and sadness. Inhabitants who are unable to flee the city desperately attempt to live «normal» lives in an abnormal situation: in a city deprived of everything, where going out for bread, water or firewood means risking their lives, where shells are deliberately fired at civilians and snipers wreak havoc. Every day they make it through is a victory against death.
