Youssef Chahine's assistant on the Feature Film "Adieu Bonaparte".

1987
Screenplay and Direction of his first Feature Film "Vols d'Eté" - Selected in la Quinzaine des Réalisateurs's Section - Cannes International Film Festival and awarded in various International Festivals.

1988 – 1990
Collaboration with Youssef Chahine for the Screenplay and Direction of the Feature Film "Alexandrie Encore et Toujours" and "Le Caire… raconté par Youssef Chahine".

1991
Screenplay and Direction of his second Feature Film "Mercedes", produced by Humbert Balsan and coproduced by ARTE.

1995
Direction of "A Propos des Garçons, des Filles et du Voile" (produced by Humbert Balsan), a Documentary of 72 minutes which received various prizes as the Video Best Prize at Locarno International Film Festival (Switzerland)
 
1999
Screenplay (with Claire Denis and Nasser Abdel Rahmane) and Direction of the Feature Film "La Ville", produced by Humbert Balsan. Special Prize of the Jury at Locarno International Film Festival (Switzerland). Broadcast by ARTE and theatrically released in France.

2001 – 2004
Screenplay (with Elias Khoury and Mohamed Soueid) and Direction of the Feature Film "La Porte du Soleil",  based upon the eponymous book by Elias Khoury (Editions Actes Sud) and produced by Humbert Balsan. Official Selection at  Cannes International Film Festival 2004. Broadcast by ARTE and theatrically released in France.

2005 
Screenplay (with Nasser Abdel Rahmane) and Direction of the Film L'aquarium
